So I am looking at the projections for my $260 auction draft tonight. It's a 6x6 roto league with OPS and QS being the additional categories. Seems like the addition of QS devalues closers a decent amount. You figure starters can contribute to 5 out of 6 pitching stats with Closers/RP only able to contribute to 4. We start 8 P, would I be better suited to just avoided closers and non starting relievers altogether? If not, I don't plan on spending more than $10 total for 2 of them.

Filling ur RP with starters like Ogando is always an option. I am not sure planning on punts before ur draft is wise though. Everybody may have the same idea jacking starting pitching thru the roof. Closers reallly are only 1 category helpers. 4 innings a week will have little WHIP, ERA affect. Throw out a closer nominee with ur first nomination. Like Kimbrel 4 bux. if he gets bid up by others less money for them to pursue ur starter strategy. If they pass u get a top closer with great other numbers cheap.

I would load up on elite SP with those categories, no question about it. But don't pre-emptively punt anything in a roto league, just don't overspend, look for the value. I like the idea of nominating players you *don't* want early to get them on someone else's roster. You always want to keep those MR with elite K/9 in mind for the late rounds. Don't worry about pitching roster positions, only worry about the IP setting and how you go about getting to it with the best numbers possible.

Also, I don't think I understand how they won't have an effect on ERA or WHIP regardless of the number of innings pitched.

In regards to targets, that's what the z-scores are for. Green is good 
And not sure what he's trying to say, but if it's that RP don't affect ratios, then he's wrong.
